We left Koddai early today for the winding descent down to the plains below. It was a long, monotonous ride across the parched landscape, punctuated by a two-hour breakdown in the middle of no-where.
We finally made it to Trichy that evening and briefly managed to wander the darkened streets of the sprawling city as night fell, catching occasional glimpses of the illuminated temple at the far end of town, peeping over the low-rise roofs.
